Job summary

First American’s National Commercial Services in Indianapolis is seeking a Commercial Escrow Officer to manage and process commercial escrow accounts, ensuring accurate handling of funds and documentation.

You will collaborate with buyers, sellers, and lenders, complete complex transactions, and help mitigate risk by coordinating with underwriting and legal teams, while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of escrow experience, preferably in commercial transactions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and lenders.
• Strong problem solving, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate internal resources and adapt to new software and technologies.
• May require escrow officer certification depending on state.
• Comfortable with proprietary programs and new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Grow and service the business by delivering outstanding customer service.
• Execute simple and complex commercial real estate escrow transactions between buyer, seller, and lender.
• Collaborate with Underwriting to monitor and mitigate risk.
• Ensure funds are properly accounted for and disbursed per contract terms.
• Complete closing by reviewing, filing documents, and distributing final statements.
• Prepare regular escrow status reports for involved parties.
• Prepare legal documents for closure of the sale.
• Follow regulatory requirements and enforce adherence.
