Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Commercial Counsel for Supply Chain to enable procurement of critical goods and services. You will provide legal review and counseling to Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Facilities teams in the United States and internationally.

You will draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts, manage standard terms, and help streamline procurement processes, including exploring AI-enabled improvements. This role is based in Washington, DC, onsite.

Qualifications

• JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of legal experience.
• Experience in commercial procurement transactions and cross-border deals.
• Experience working with supply chain, purchasing, and facilities teams.
• Experience with Fortune 1000 companies.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review a range of commercial contracts, including purchase orders/agreements, service agreements, license agreements, long-term supply agreements, NDAs, and other procurement-related agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal risk by implementing processes, trainings, and controls for the supported SpaceX teams.
• Provide legal analyses of applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices related to procurement of goods and services.
• Counsel cross-functionally across the procurement lifecycle, including RFPs, RFQs, purchase agreements, license agreements, and dispute resolution.
• Manage SpaceX’s form Purchase Order and Standard Terms and Conditions.
• Support improvements of forms, policies, and processes, including using AI to improve efficiency.
• Work with business teams to analyze legal risks and develop creative solutions.
