Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Commercial Counsel in the Legal Team to enable procurement of goods and services by providing legal review and counseling to Supply Chain, Purchasing, Facilities and cross-functional partners in the United States and internationally.

The role focuses on drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts, mitigating risk, and guiding teams through procurement processes, including RFPs, RFQs and disputes, with a strong emphasis on compliance and strategic support.

Qualifications

• JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of legal experience.
• Experience at a well-regarded law firm is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review a range of commercial contracts including purchase orders, service, license, and long-term agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal risk by implementing processes, trainings, and controls for SpaceX teams.
• Provide legal analyses of applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices for procurement.
• Counsel through all procurement lifecycle stages, including RFPs, RFQs, and dispute resolution.
• Manage SpaceX’s form Purchase Order and Standard Terms and Conditions.
• Support improvements of forms, policies, and processes, including AI-enabled tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and trusted advisor relationships.
