Job summary

Volta seeks a Legal Counsel to support the executive and legal/compliance teams in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements underpinning fundraising, strategy, and operations. The role touches vendor and customer contracts, procurement, and data center projects in a fast-moving infrastructure business.

The candidate will work with Delivery, Procurement and Corporate Development, ensure governance, and maintain contract templates and templates.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a commercial lawyer, in-house or at a law firm.
• Strong drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts.
• Experience with vendor, procurement or construction-related agreements is a plus.
• Ability to manage a high volume of contracts and competing priorities.
• Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (vendor, procurement, customer).
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk and negotiation strategy.
• Support procurement and delivery teams on data-center related contracts.
• Assist with corporate structuring, governance, and workflows.
• Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows.
• Track contractual obligations and support regulatory/commercial terms.

Education

J.D. and active bar membership in US or England
