Job summary

Henson Construction LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee restaurant construction projects from preconstruction through completion. You will coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and field teams to deliver safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of PM experience in fast-paced commercial settings and can read plans, manage budgets, and drive multi-project coordination.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of project management experience in commercial construction.
• Experience in restaurant/retail/hospitality construction projects.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and subcontractor management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and travel to sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial restaurant construction projects from planning through turnover.
• Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, subcontract agreements, and procurement timelines.
• Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to hit milestones.
• Monitor project costs, track change orders, and maintain profitability targets.
• Review plans and contracts for compliance with requirements.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve safety, quality, budget, or schedule challenges.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and company standards.
• Prepare reports, forecasts, and updates for leadership.
• Support closeout activities including punch lists and final documentation.

This position is ideal for a construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing multiple moving pieces while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and field teams. You will work closely with company leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the high standards our clients expect.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Manage commercial restaurant construction projects from planning and procurement through final turnover.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, subcontract agreements, and material procurement timelines.
• Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Monitor project costs, track change orders, and maintain profitability objectives.
• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Lead project meetings and maintain consistent communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and proactively resolve project challenges that could impact safety, quality, budget, or schedule.
• Ensure projects comply with all applicable building codes, safety standards, and company expectations.
• Prepare project reports, forecasts, and updates for company leadership.
• Support project closeout activities, including punch list management, final documentation, and client turnover.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5-10 years of Project Management experience within commercial construction.
• Experience managing restaurant, retail, hospitality, or other fast-paced commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and subcontractor management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Experience managing ground-up and renovation restaurant construction projects.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building codes and permitting processes.
• Experience working directly with franchise or national restaurant brands.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
