Job summary

HeadwatersConstructionCompany seeks a motivated Project Engineer to support project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams on commercial construction projects. You will coordinate documentation, manage submittals and RFIs, support scheduling, and ensure clear office-field communication, building a long-term career in project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• 1+ year of commercial construction experience, including internships or entry-level coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software (Procore preferred).
• Basic understanding of construction procedures, scheduling, and project documentation.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.
• Ability to travel to project sites and safely access active environments with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination, documentation, and administrative support.
• Manage and track submittals, shop drawings, product data, and other project documentation.
• Maintain and distribute current project plans, specs, and related documents to subs and suppliers.
• Coordinate communication between project teams, subcontractors, architects, owners, and suppliers.
• Support project scheduling, procurement tracking, and material coordination.
• Attend project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and track action items.
• Provide project information and coordination support to superintendents and field teams.
• Maintain project logs and assist with closeout documentation, warranties, manuals, and turnover packages.
• Help identify project issues and support timely resolution while promoting safe job sites.
