Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects in Scottsdale, AZ. The successful candidate will own submittals/RFIs, coordinate drawings and specs, and collaborate with project teams to drive on-time delivery.

You will review plans for conflicts, assist with procurement and scheduling, and maintain comprehensive project records, ensuring smooth daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires 3+ years as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of submittals, RFIs, plans and specifications.
  • Experience with a commercial general contractor is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive ownership and follow-through on responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and track construction submittals from review to distribution.
  • Coordinate RFIs, drawings, and project docs for timely communication.
  • Collaborate with PMs, superintendents, subs, architects, engineers, and design teams.
  • Review plans to identify conflicts and coordination issues.
  • Assist with procurement, scheduling, material tracking, and closeout.
  • Maintain organized project records and tracking logs.
  • Monitor deadlines and follow up to ensure outstanding items are completed.
  • Provide admin and coordination support to the project team.

Job description

An established, employee-owned construction company is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects.

The ideal candidate has commercial construction experience, understands the submittal and RFI process, and is ready to take ownership of their role and responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Oversee and track construction submittals throughout the review, approval, and distribution process.
  • Coordinate RFIs, drawings, specifications, and project-related documentation to ensure timely and accurate communication.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and design teams to support project execution.
  • Review construction plans and specifications to identify potential conflicts, discrepancies, and coordination issues.
  • Assist with procurement, project scheduling, material tracking, and project closeout activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized project records, documentation, correspondence, and tracking logs.
  • Monitor project deadlines and deliverables while following up with team members and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of outstanding items.
  • Provide ongoing administrative and coordination support to the project team to facilitate efficient day-to-day project operations.
What You Must Have
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction submittals, RFIs, plans, specifications, and project documents.
  • Experience working with a commercial general contractor preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take ownership and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
