Job summary

TEEMA is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join a commercial construction team in Scottsdale. The role focuses on coordinating submittals, RFIs, schedules, and project documentation to keep work moving smoothly.

You will collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design professionals to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of commercial construction experience and can read plans, manage documentation, and communicate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, construction experience also considered.
  • 3+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Experience as Field Engineer or similar role.
  • Understanding of submittal and RFI processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily project coordination support to the Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Manage and track submittals, RFIs, project correspondence, and other essential documentation.
  • Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and coordination.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and field personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist with material procurement, delivery coordination, and inventory tracking.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project records, logs, and documentation.
  • Assist in identifying, tracking, and resolving field issues and project-related challenges.
  • Participate in project meetings and effectively communicate schedules, updates, and action items to the project team.
  • Support project scheduling, quality control efforts, and day-to-day construction coordination.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists, final documentation, and turnover requirements.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Field Engineer to join their commercial construction team. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on commercial construction experience who understands project documentation, submittals, RFIs, and the day-to-day coordination needed to keep a project moving.

The Field Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other members of the project team to help ensure projects stay organized, on schedule, and on track.

What You’ll Be Doing

Provide daily project coordination support to the Project Manager and Superintendent.

Manage and track submittals, RFIs, project correspondence, and other essential documentation.

Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and coordination.

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and field personnel to ensure smooth project execution.

Assist with material procurement, delivery coordination, and inventory tracking.

Maintain organized and accurate project records, logs, and documentation.

Assist in identifying, tracking, and resolving field issues and project-related challenges.

Participate in project meetings and effectively communicate schedules, updates, and action items to the project team.

What You Must Have

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but relevant construction experience will be considered

3+ years of commercial construction experience preferred

Previous experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar role

Strong understanding of the construction submittal and RFI process

Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work effectively with both field and office teams

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Experience with construction project management software is a plus
