Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator (Mandatory Experience)

Our estimators are hands-on professionals responsible for preparing complete estimates and proposals, utilizing documents ranging from concept sketches to complete construction drawings and specifications.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of interior renovation, ground-up construction, and government projects.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with field personnel, employees, management, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owners.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding project plans, specifications, and other construction documents.
• Experience in resolving contract disputes and managing order changes.
• Ability to solicit subcontractor and supplier information and pricing.
• Assist in Good Faith Efforts and outreach activities.
• Prepare instructions to bidders, bid forms, and other bid solicitation materials.
• Perform or oversee quantity survey and pricing efforts for internal budgeting.
• Develop conceptual budgets with minimal initial information.
• Review general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics, and exhibits.
• Maintain and document project information flow.
• Manage review and scoping of specialty contractor bids.
• Monitor and communicate trends in construction and material costs.
• Analyze alternative methods to determine the most economical options.
• Build effective relationships with clients, design teams, contractors, suppliers, and user groups, reflecting company values and exceeding customer expectations.
• Participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance the company's image.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing work plans.
• Address issues proactively with creativity and discretion.
• Familiarity with various field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Use experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
• Knowledge of Gordian systems is a plus.
