Job summary

Bank of America in Chicago is seeking a Standard Channel Underwriter to perform credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients. You will work with the client team across high-volume national queues, complete credit analysis, evaluate risks, and write financial analyses for loan structures including lines of credit, term loans, and real estate loans.

The role requires 2+ years in Commercial Banking, strong communication skills, and the ability to independently assess borrower

Qualifications

• 2+ years of solid Commercial Banking experience.
• Experience in financial analysis, structuring, and underwriting.
• Analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring.
• Strong communication skills; ability to communicate vertically, horizontally, and externally.
• Industry knowledge across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities

• Supports both underwriting and monitoring in a high-volume national workflow queue.
• Independently works with Relationship Managers and Solutions Advisors to understand structuring needs and requirements.
• Delivers financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analyses to team members to support the loan decision-making process.
• Underwriters have single signature authority for certain credit transaction.
