Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Carpentry Estimator for our Greater Chicagoland area projects. The role focuses on estimating commercial interior scopes, including metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and doors and frames, supporting preconstruction and bidding.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial carpentry, proficiency with Bluebeam, OST, Procore, and a solid ability to read architectural drawings. A collaborative, detail‑driven mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial carpentry or interior construction.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience estimating union labor preferred.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, OST, Procore, or similar.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial carpentry scopes, including: metal framing and drywall, acoustical and specialty ceilings, rough carpentry, doors, frames and related hardware.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
• Review bid documents, addenda, and scope requirements.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing when applicable.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations staff during preconstruction.
• Identify scope gaps, risk items, and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Support bid submissions and assist with project handoff after award.
