Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Construction Senior Estimator to join a fast-paced, design-build firm in the Chicagoland area. You will prepare comprehensive estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and time, analyzing blueprints and specifications and supporting preconstruction discussions with clients and engineers.

Ideal candidates bring at least 3 years of estimating experience, strong analytical ability, and proficiency with estimation software.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating or related role.
Experience in estimating, preconstruction, bidding, takeoffs, and construction.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labor requirements.
Proficiency in estimation software.
Analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration with professionals.
Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
Strong problem-solving and multi-project management.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and time.
Review blueprints, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
Attend preconstruction meetings with clients, architects, and engineers.
Conduct site visits and gather data to aid estimation.
Prepare and submit bidding proposals to clients, ensuring timeliness and competitiveness.
Perform takeoffs for materials and costs.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other professionals to understand requirements.
Track data to monitor and improve estimation accuracy.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate into estimation processes.
