Job summary

Wood Construction Lumber Job Search is seeking a Sr. Estimator for commercial/architectural millwork in Illinois. The role focuses on detailed take-offs, cost estimation and bid preparation for cabinetry and millwork projects.

Candidate must have 3+ years of cabinetry/millwork estimating, read drawings, and use Bluebeam and Excel. Relocation is available; sponsorship is not offered. Salary ranges from $70K to $100K+ depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating cabinetry, millwork or related construction experience.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in estimating materials, labor, fabrication and overhead.
• Experience with Bluebeam or similar software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specs and bid documents for detailed take-offs.
• Create comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, fabrication and installation.
• Solicit and negotiate supplier, vendor, and subcontractor pricing.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, production teams and clients to clarify scope and offer VE options.
• Maintain pricing data and vendor records for reference; attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
• Assist post-bid analysis and contract negotiations; stay updated on market trends.
