Job summary

Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. seeks an Associate Actuary for Commercial Auto to lead pricing efforts for Small Commercial and Middle Market from Worcester, MA or remote locations. The role involves rate indications, filings, predictive analytics, and profitability analysis to support growth.

The ideal candidate has a technical actuarial background, ACAS or higher, and strong communication skills to present to management and business partners. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
• Five or more years of technical actuarial experience across pricing, reserving or predictive modeling.
• ACAS designation or higher, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proficient in Excel and SQL; able to automate processes.

Responsibilities

• Actuarial rate indications and assumptions.
• Lead annual rate revision analyses, filings, and objection management.
• Use predictive analytics to implement new auto pricing platform.
• Monitor profitability and advise business partners.
• Communicate technical analysis to management and partners.
• Analyze the book and work with field leadership on trends.
• Collaborate with other Commercial Lines pricing teams.
• Incorporate external benchmarks into analyses.
• Build efficiencies into existing processes.
• May participate in community recruiting or training activities.
