Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester, MA (with remote options) seeks an Associate Actuary for Commercial Auto to lead ratemaking, rate indications, and profitability analyses for Small Commercial and Middle Market. This role reports to the Actuarial Manager of Commercial Auto.

You will lead filings, develop predictive analytics for a new pricing platform, collaborate with underwriting and field leadership, and communicate complex analyses to senior leadership to drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
• Five or more years of actuarial experience in pricing, reserving, or predictive modeling.
• ACAS Designation or higher or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced MS Excel; SQL; ability to automate processes and communicate technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for actuarial rate indications and actuarial assumptions.
• Lead annual rate revision analyses, filings, and objection management.
• Leverage predictive analytics to implement new auto product and pricing platform.
• Monitor profitability and provide recommendations to business partners.
• Communicate technical analyses to business partners and upper management.
• Analyze the book of business and collaborate with field leadership on trends.
• Collaborate with other Commercial Lines actuarial pricing teams.
