Job summary

Travelers in California is seeking an Account Executive for Commercial Accounts to partner with agents and brokers to provide property, general liability, commercial auto, and/or workers' compensation coverage for new and renewal business. You are decisive, detail-oriented, and adept at building relationships to drive profitability.

The role requires underwriting experience in commercial lines, a bachelor’s degree, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Three to five years of underwriting experience with experience in commercial lines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by meeting agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products; travel required.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans and region/group sales plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
