Job summary

Strategic Systems Programs seeks an experienced security leader to advise the Commanding Officer on physical, personnel, information, and COMSEC security. You will manage the PSP, coordinate investigations, and ensure compliance with DoD instructions and federal requirements across DoD and contractor personnel.

The role requires expertise in security policy, interagency coordination, and executive-level briefings for senior leadership to safeguard critical information and mission assets.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• New employees to the DoD will be required to pass E-Verify.
• Within DoD, retired military appointment within 180 days is subject to 5 U.S.C. 3326.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• SFPC certification within two years of hire.
• SPeD position requires DoD certification within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal advisor and direct representative to the Commanding Officer on protection of classified information and security compliance.
• Formulate and issue comprehensive command security policies, SOPs, and emergency protection/destruction plans.
• Manage the command's Personnel Security Program (PSP) and oversee PSIs.
• Utilize DISS to input data, track clearance eligibility, and verify security clearances.
• Monitor and enforce visitor control protocols for authorized access to classified materials.
• Develop and execute the Command Security Education and Awareness Program with briefings for command personnel.
• Investigate security violations and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Coordinate with DoD CAF regarding unfavorable eligibility determinations and continuous evaluation reporting.
• Maintain liaison with ISSM for cybersecurity and SSO for SCI environments.
