Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled Welder - Combination to join our team in our Texas operations. You will weld and fabricate metal components per layouts, blueprints, and welding procedures, ensuring integrity of assemblies for industrial applications.

Applicants must have 3-5 years of journeyman level experience; DL license; no formal education required. You will work with torch, plasma-arc equipment, and hoisting tools while following safety standards and quality specs.

Responsibilities

• Uses spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
• Unites pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture.
• Reaching expected flame temperature and adjusting gas/air flow.
• Preheats work pieces for welding or curving, using torch.
• Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and shapes metal.
• Checks the weakness of work pieces and measures with straightedge or template to ensure specs.
• Climbs ladders or scaffolds to access work areas.
• Gives signal to crane operator to lift large work pieces.
• Uses cutting equipment to dismount metal or cut scrap metal.
• Joins pieces together and adds metal to develop parts.
