Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Welder - Combination to join metal parts using arc, torch, and spot welding techniques in our Illinois operations. The role requires interpreting layouts, blueprints, work orders, and welding procedures while following safety standards.

You will weld, cut, and fit pipes and plates, preheat parts, and assist with crane operations and material handling. A journeyman level of experience (3–5 years) and legal work authorization in the United States are required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level experience (3–5 years).
• Ability to read blueprints and layout instructions.
• Proficiency with arc welding and torch-cutting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Welder joints metal parts by welding according to layout and procedures.
• Operate spot, arc, and gas welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces.
• Prepare and heat metals using torches and adjust gas/air flow.
• Preheat, straighten, curve, or develop metal as required.
• Assist with positioning, lifts, and crane signals for large pieces.
• Inspect welds and measure pieces to ensure specifications.
