Job summary

MasTec is seeking a Welder to join our industrial construction team. You will join various metal components using GTAW, SMAW, FACW, GMAW per site requirements, while adhering to safety and quality standards at outdoor and industrial project sites.

You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, and follow Welding Procedure Specifications to produce precise welds. Expect long shifts, travel to project sites, and collaboration with electricians and pipefitters as needed.

Qualifications

Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols and other written instructions.
Comply with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project QC documents.
Ability to read plans and weld symbols to perform tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols, and other instructions.
Follow project specs and QC documents; understand WPS.
Perform GTAW, SMAW, FACW, GMAW welds as required by project.
Field install welds on structural components and piping as needed.
Select fillers based on welding procedures; prepare surfaces for welds.
Assist pipe fitters and coordinate with other trades on site.
Maintain safety, quality, and productivity on heavy industrial projects.
Communicate any hazards or material needs to foreman.
