Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking a Welder to join diverse metal fabrication projects. You will read plans, interpret weld symbols, and perform GTAW, SMAW, FACW, and GMAW welds to spec on structural/duct components and piping. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adherence to project schedules.

You will coordinate with pipe fitters and other trades, prepare surfaces, select fillers, and ensure quality while maintaining site safety and productive performance across shifts.

Qualifications

• 4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols and other instructions to perform tasks accurately.
• Follows project specifications and Quality Control documents and understands Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Perform GTAW, SMAW, FACW, GMAW and other welds as required by project needs.
• Field install welds including structural components, duct work, hoppers, and attachments.
• Select proper fillers based on welding procedure specifications.
• Prepare welding surfaces to achieve proper joint detail.
• Coordinate with pipe fitters and other trades as needed.
• Maintain safety and quality, communicate with Foreman regarding issues and hazards.
• Work shifts and overtime as required and operate under production schedules.
