Responsibilities include:

• Using spot welding guns or hand-held, electric, or gas welding equipment to weld or tack weld components.
• Unifying pipes from torches to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas, controlling valve operations.
• Adjusting flame temperature, size, and color by burning torches and regulating gas and air flow.
• Preheating workpieces for welding or bending using torches.
• Filling holes, correcting mistakes, and shaping metal workpieces.
• Inspecting workpieces for weaknesses and measuring to ensure specifications are met.
• Climbing ladders or scaffolds to disassemble textures.
• Signaling crane operators to lift large workpieces.
• Using thermal-cutting tools such as flame-cutting torches or plasma-arc equipment.
• Handling and positioning workpieces with hoists, cranes, or hand tools.
• Selecting weld locations based on metal type, thickness, and temperature considerations.
• Joining pieces, straightening, curving, dissolving, or developing metal parts with flame or electrodes.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• No minimum education requirements.
• 3-5 years of Journeyman level welding experience.

Physical Demands: Regularly sit, handle, reach, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
