SAFEbuilt is seeking a Combination Building Inspector in Johnstown, CO to inspect projects at different stages and enforce building codes. The role requires reviewing plans, documenting inspections, and communicating clear code-compliant solutions with applicants and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of municipal inspections experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
• Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions.
• Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff, public, contractors, and governmental entities.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections during various stages of construction.
• Read and examine plans and specifications when required.
• Report violations and maintain files/records.
• Perform other related duties as required.
