Job summary

Kimball Midwest in Columbus, OH is seeking a detail-oriented HR Compensation Specialist I to support day-to-day compensation programs and position management, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

You will process compensation transactions, maintain data, support incentive programs for internal associates and the sales force, and collaborate with Payroll and HR teams to drive process improvements. The role is on-site with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in HR.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
• A SHRM-CP certification or plan to achieve.
• The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• The successful completion of a ninety (90) day orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Administers compensation-related processes and programs for internal associates and the sales force, ensuring accurate and timely execution of position changes, adjustments, and submissions
• Responds to inquiries from internal associates and sales team regarding compensation, providing clear and accurate explanations and solutions
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of compensation and position adjustments, updates, and payouts, collaborating closely with Payroll and HR teams
• Maintains knowledge of compensation laws and regulations to uphold compliance in all areas of responsibility
• Partners with Compensation Assistance Manager to interpret and apply compensation guidelines and policies accurately
• Supports the implementation of compensation process improvements
• Follows proper approval processes for internal associate and sales force compensation increases
• Creates, maintains, and updates position descriptions, job titles, and related compensation documentation in alignment with organizational guidelines and business needs
• Benchmarks and communicates compensation data as requested by management to ensure fair and accurate compensation practices
• Reviews compensation portions of the Company Handbook and Sales Policy Manual on a quarterly basis to maintain accuracy
