Job summary

Sherwin-Williams Co. is seeking a motivated R&D Chemist to join the GSC Colorant team in Illinois. You will work on colorant dispersions, raw materials, and product development, performing formulation, testing, and application tasks.

Strong communication and careful documentation are essential as you interact with colleagues and handle confidential information. Responsibilities include batch-making, testing, documenting results, and presenting information to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D lab projects to evaluate, develop, and validate colorant formulas.
• Batch-making and testing including weighing, mixing, tinting, drawing down, and evaluating.
• Accurate documentation of lab results and technical information.
• Present information to various audiences and adapt as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to benefit the group and company.
• Develop knowledge of product lines and colorant systems.
