Job summary

Advanced Composites is seeking an R&D Color Technician I to support color formulations for new product designs. You will prepare prototype samples, evaluate color and material properties, and perform testing to achieve specifications.

This hands-on role combines color science, lab testing, material processing, and meticulous recordkeeping. You may prepare customer samples and collaborate with Production, QA, R&D, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of color-matching experience is preferred.
• Experience in color development, plastics, polymers, or related labs is beneficial.
• Proficiency with color measurement equipment and software.
• Strong attention to detail and organized recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Support color development and formulation activities with emphasis on product quality and cost.
• Perform color matching against OEM color masters and specifications.
• Produce prototype samples and adjust formulations based on test results.
• Conduct color and appearance testing on new designs, including color and weathering evaluations.
• Operate equipment used in color development (extruders, mixers, injection molding) and color measurement systems.
• Maintain accurate color development records and documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, R&D, and suppliers as needed.
