Actalent is seeking a Chemist - Lab Tech in CONGERS, NY. The role focuses on developing color shades, customizing formulations, and maintaining the color library while coordinating with chemists, clients, and laboratories worldwide.

You will document activities, manage materials, and ensure compliance with company standards. Opportunity to advance to a chemist role and participate in product launches for high-end customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related field.
• Strong color perception and color-matching capabilities.
• Foundational formulation skills across all color cosmetics technologies.
• Understanding of raw materials, pigments, and FDA/global guidelines.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new color shades and customize formulations with chemists and clients.
• Participate in shade-matching sessions and assist in formula customization.
• Organize laboratory operations and oversee day-to-day functions.
• Manage raw materials inventory to support formulation.
• Maintain and update the color library.
• Coordinate tests with global laboratories and transfer formulas to production.
• Document weekly activities and present updates to management.
