Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (or Biology with chemistry and organic chemistry classes).
• 2–5 years of experience in R&D, formulation, emulsions, and other color product formulations.
• Well organized and highly detail oriented.
• Must work well with others and communicate effectively.
• Strong understanding of cosmetic raw materials, formulation principles, production equipment.
• Strong color matching skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10-15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a lab notebook.
• Make batches.
• Create ingredient qualitative and quantitative lists.
• Check next day specification from previous day batch.
• Follow up with ongoing stabilities.
• Communicate with raw material vendors.
• Enter formulation into the company formulator.
• Review results with supervisor.
• Analyze lab batch measuring viscosity, pH, and density.
• Assist in formulation and development of skin care and color cosmetic products.
• Support in color matching and formulation adjustments.
• Support compliance with color regulations and internal quality standards.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and organize materials.
