Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical procedures, obtain authorizations, verify patient information, and communicate pre-operative instructions.

You will serve as the primary liaison among patients, surgeons, physician offices, hospitals, and insurers, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, handling consent forms, and supporting day-to-day operations to ensure accurate, efficient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Medical Reception functions.
• 1 year of experience as Surgery Scheduler or related reception duties.
• Proficiency in patient communications and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical procedures, testing, and pre-op appointments.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and manage consent forms for procedures.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Oversee provider schedule templates and input monthly schedules.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
• Maintain patient records and day-to-day office operations.
