Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a Trainee to learn vehicle body repair under a Mentor Metal Technician. You’ll progress through levels, complete I-CAR curriculum, and tackle repairs with guidance to meet manufacturer specs.

The program emphasizes safety, learning, and hands‑on practice while developing essential shop skills. The role starts with foundational training, lifts up to 50 pounds, and requires strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to read work orders.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Aptitude screening with a score of 40 or higher.
• Workplace Productivity screening with a score of Medium or higher.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to read and understand a work order.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Check online I-Car classes weekly and complete.
• Be prepared and knowledgeable for upcoming assessments.
• Maintain an organized and clean tool box.
• Protect interior and exterior non-repair areas from dust and overspray.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicles.
• Refit new parts such as bumpers, fenders, grills, moldings, and other bolt‑on items.
• Assist mentors with all areas of the repair process.
• Complete repairs to manufacturer specifications including alignments and welds.
