Job summary

Radford University is seeking an Assistant Coach for Cross Country/Track & Field to assist the Director in leading the Division I program at Radford University. This temporary/restricted role will oversee coaching, recruitment, and practice facilitation, contributing to the development of student-athletes on the Radford campus.

The position supports team success through on-site coaching, event instruction, and adherence to NCAA rules.

Qualifications

• Coaching and/or recruiting experience in track and field at the collegiate level.
• Ability to demonstrate and teach advanced skills in jumping and combined events; knowledge of NCAA recruiting and compliance procedures.
• Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment as to teaching methods; work independently without direct supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Track and Field/Cross Country in administration and leadership of the program.
• Recruit student-athletes and facilitate training and practice activities.
• Coach and instruct across cross country and track events; support training planning.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA rules and program documentation.
