Job summary

University of Southern Indiana is seeking an Assistant Cross Country Coach (Part-Time) to assist the Head Coach in managing the cross country program. The role involves coaching during events, planning with the coaching staff, and coordinating recruiting activities for student-athletes.

The position requires familiarity with NCAA and conference rules, strong administrative skills, and the ability to work with students, faculty, alumni, and staff.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with OVC and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Proficiency with computers, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database, email software.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, management and administrative skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with student-athletes, faculty, alumni, and administrative staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coaching responsibilities during athletic events.
• Attend coaches’ preparatory meetings and implement strategies resulting from these meetings.
• Scout for and recruit quality student athletes and coordinate recruiting activities with the Head Coach.
• Work with student athletes and monitor adherence to rules and regulations for conduct, appearance, and behavior.
• Arrange travel and transportation, meals, and meeting space for road trips.
• Keep accurate records and provide information for university forms.
