Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) seeks an experienced College Advisor to support student success through quality academic advising, career exploration, and transfer planning. This role partners with college staff to guide students from enrollment through completion, providing coaching and educational planning.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in higher education advising, strong communication skills, and experience using Navigate and related systems to track student progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of student services/affairs experience in higher education with advising traditional and non-traditional students.
• Knowledge of proactive and intrusive advising practices; ability to support student success and persistence.
• Experience with a culturally diverse student body and familiarity with student success initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Advise potential and current students on educational and career goals; provide program requirements, student services, and transfer information.
• Explain policies and procedures related to enrollment, financial aid, scholarships, and enrollment initiatives to students.
• Review placement scores and conduct unofficial transfer evaluations for advising purposes.
