Job summary

Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York seeks an Advocate Counselor / Case Manager to provide college and career advising to students in the CCCS-Alianza program. You will earn rapport and build supportive relationships to guide postsecondary choices and ensure students graduate confident in their plans.

You will manage a student caseload, collaborate with school staff, deliver advisory workshops, track outcomes, and assist families with resources to support positive postsecondary outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Commitment to equity, access, and supporting underserved student populations.
• Experience with urban adolescents.
• Ability to collaborate with NYC Public Schools guidance counselors and CBO teams.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student caseload and collaborate with school personnel.
• Foster student social intelligence through advisory workshops and community events.
• Adapt advisory curriculum for engaging planning to meet developmental needs.
• Refer families to outside health services and social services as needed.
• Provide interventions and make referrals for students as required.
• Conduct attendance outreach via calls, letters, or home visits.
• Track all student interactions/outcomes per data management protocols.
• Work with guidance counselors and postsecondary teams to align advising.
