Job summary

Hamilton College is seeking a Health Services Assistant to support the medical staff in the Health Center, handling phones, scheduling, PHI requests, and various clerical tasks while ensuring confidentiality.

The position is part-time with an 85% schedule (approx. 1,547 hours). Flexible hours during the academic year are required to coordinate referrals, PHI, and services for students and alumni.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in reception, intake, or referral management in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones to schedule appointments and take messages for nursing triage and providers.
• Coordinate services with medical staff and manage PHI.
• Handle confidential PHI and other sensitive student information.
• Assist with referrals, x-ray and lab services when needed.
• Receive prescriptions, log medications, and verify Hill Cards at pickup.
• Sort lab/medical reports for staff and patients.
• Respond to inquiries about Health Center services and coverage.
• Maintain HIPAA/FERPA compliance and confidentiality.
