Job summary

University of Georgia in Athens seeks a College Advisor to meet with assigned students and provide accurate information about degree programs, from major admission to graduation. A high level of independent work is expected, with consistent contact and up-to-date records, supporting freshmen and transfer orientation initiatives with the UGA Exploratory Center.

Responsibilities include advising during orientation, collaborating with majors, maintaining records, and guiding students to campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate well one-on-one in person or via Zoom, email, telephone, and Slack/Teams.
• Maintain consistent contact and accurate student records to support advising.

Responsibilities

• Advise Terry Major/Certificate Students on degree requirements and course selections.
• Advise during UGA orientation sessions with the Exploratory Center.
• Attend mandatory staff/advisor meetings and participate in professional development.
• Provide career advisement and facilitate connections with the Career Center and employers.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Terry College programs.
