The Mills Institute @ Northeastern University Upward Bound is seeking a Student Recruitment & Retention Specialist in Oakland. The role focuses on outreach, recruitment and administrative support to increase participation among historically underserved students and to assist with the application and onboarding process.

You will work with students, families, partner schools and community organizations, coordinating recruitment events and retention activities, and supporting program operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and related field proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage recruitment initiatives to boost participation from underserved communities.
• Conduct outreach at feeder schools and events; assist with student applications.
• Support onboarding, engagement activities, and program operations.
• Coordinate with families, schools, and community partners to promote enrollment.
