Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Project Advisor to prepare participants for high school graduation and post-secondary education. You will coordinate tutoring, college and career advising, and track progress to raise graduation rates.

On-site position with opportunities to develop curricula, plan college visits, and collaborate with community partners. A Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or counseling plus 2 years in related settings is required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, counseling, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in educational settings or TRIO/Upward Bound.
• Ability to work on-site and coordinate college and career advising.
• Preferred master's degree in education, social work or counseling.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, enroll, and advise students at an assigned high school.
• Provide academic advising, college/career planning, and financial aid information.
• Coordinate tutorial services and supervise tutors and advisors.
• Plan college visits and organize workshops on college and career planning.
• Prepare weekly evaluations and program reports.
