Job summary

East Side House Settlement is seeking a College Counselor for the Student Success Center at the Mott Haven Educational Campus in the Bronx. You will support students with college preparation, FAFSA guidance, and admissions planning while coordinating with school staff.

The role involves a caseload of students, collaboration with DOE partners, and ongoing professional development to enhance advising skills. Monday–Friday schedule with the stated mission to expand opportunities for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, human services, or related field.
• Minimum of two years experience with youth at risk and/or school setting.
• Counseling experience and/or group work.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Computer literate; proficient with word processing tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-secondary readiness support and work-readiness skills development.
• Educate students and families about colleges and the admissions process.
• Meet with students individually and in groups to discuss college options.
• Coordinate with DOE staff to support students on a college pathway.
• Maintain student records and data for program reporting.
