Job summary

East Side House Settlement in the Bronx is seeking a Student Advisor to support attendance, academics, and socio-emotional growth for middle and high school students within our Community School Program. Under the Community School Director, you will meet with students, coordinate outreach, connect families with resources, and partner with teachers to foster a supportive, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S.W. with at least two years’ youth-related work experience.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Availability for some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Meet targeted students remotely or in person to support attendance and goals.
• Conduct daily attendance outreach via phone, email, or virtual platforms.
• Refer students to additional supports and ensure remote access to services.
• Build strong relationships with school staff, families, and community partners.
• Coordinate activities, field trips, and student-centered events.
• Assist with college guidance and admissions process discussions.
