Job summary

The New Jersey Institute of Technology is seeking an Upward Bound Counselor to provide academic and career counseling, assisting students with college admissions and financial aid processes. This role requires strong communication skills and at least two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities include conducting workshops, mentoring, and providing oversight during residential summer programs. Compensation ranges from $63,129.05 to $102,796.62 annually, depending on experience, and the position is exempt and full-time.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of counseling experience or teaching experience.
• Experience in conducting testing and training activities.
• Ability to provide overnight supervision during the summer program.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, career, and educational counseling to students.
• Coordinate academic instruction, mentoring, and tutoring services.
• Collect and analyze student data to improve outcomes.
• Conduct career workshops and seminars.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated skills in individual and group counseling techniques

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite

Knowledge of Google Suite

Education

Bachelor's degree in counseling, Student Personnel Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education or related fields

Master's degree in relevant field (preferred)
