Job summary

USPI's St. Mary’s Ambulatory Surgery Center in Richmond, VA, is seeking a detail-oriented Collector to join our revenue cycle team. You’ll follow up on outstanding balances, work with patients and insurers, and help ensure timely payments while delivering exceptional service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred), with experience in medical collections or billing. Strong communication, problem-solving, and independent work ethic are essential.

• Experience in medical collections, revenue cycle, or billing preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

As a Collector, you will play a vital role in our revenue cycle by following up on outstanding accounts, ensuring timely payments, and providing exceptional customer service to patients regarding their billing inquiries. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency and success of our multispecialty surgery center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow up on outstanding claims and patient balances to ensure timely collections
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and third-party payers regarding account status and payment options
• Research and resolve claim denials, discrepancies, and billing issues
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection efforts and account updates
• Collaborate with the billing team to streamline collection processes and improve financial outcomes
