Job summary

EverStaff, LLC is seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join our Finance team in Hudson, Ohio. You will manage an assigned portfolio of past-due accounts, communicate with customers to collect on balances, and maintain accurate records of collection activity.

This onsite, full-time role requires 2+ years in collections, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with Excel and CRM/ERP systems. Temp-to-hire opportunity with health and other benefits may be offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, credit, or related financial services role.
• Experience managing a portfolio of delinquent customer accounts preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable communicating with customers regarding overdue balances and payment expectations.
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of past-due customer accounts and proactively pursue outstanding balances.
• Contact customers by phone, email, and other appropriate methods regarding overdue accounts.
• Establish professional relationships with customers while communicating payment expectations.
• Investigate and resolve disputes, billing discrepancies, credits, refunds, and account questions.
• Process and document customer payments, payment arrangements, promises to pay, and collection activity.
• Negotiate payment arrangements within company guidelines and follow up on broken promises.
• Escalate accounts when necessary and coordinate with management or other departments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity in company systems.
