Job summary

Academy Bank, N.A. in Kansas City seeks a Collateral Specialist I to manage collateral releases for commercial and consumer loans and to perform title lien perfection tasks in line with state rules.

You will ensure accuracy and compliance while handling sensitive client information. Responsibilities include processing lien releases, validating payoff conditions, coordinating recording with authorities, and maintaining lien positions on titled collateral.

Qualifications

• College degree or 3+ years banking experience.
• 2+ years in loan operations, collateral management, lien releases, or post-closing functions.
• Active Notary Public designation or ability to obtain within two months.

Responsibilities

• Process releases of liens, including mortgages/deeds of trust, UCC financing statements, vehicle titles, and other collateral documents.
• Ensure releases follow state-specific recording requirements and timelines.
• Validate payoff conditions and review loan documents to confirm collateral descriptions and lien positions.
• Coordinate recording and filing; notarize and finalize releases for recording with Recorder of Deeds, Secretary of State, FAA, etc.
• Process lien perfection on titled collateral for commercial loan transactions and ensure lienholder info is accurate on titles.
• Protect client and bank information; complete monthly regulatory training; utilize RPA/AI tools to improve workflow; perform other duties as assigned.
