Job summary

FreezPak Logistics is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service our cold storage facility in Suffolk, VA. The role focuses on mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems with hands-on troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in cold storage or similar environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance preferred.
• Certifications such as HACCP, BRC; OSHA certification a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery, equipment, and systems, including refrigeration units, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues to ensure smooth operation.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE usage during maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize and schedule tasks.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
