Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Senior Component Design Engineer for Turbomachinery's Cold End design to deliver on‑time, high‑quality artefacts and integrate solutions with cross‑functional teams.

You will lead design reviews, perform trade studies, and work with Manufacturing to implement DfM, while guiding verification activities including rig and engine tests for turbomachinery components. U.S. citizens preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross‑functional team to design turbomachinery components and interfacing hardware.
• Deliver models, definitions, and analyses of turbomachinery components and hardware.
• Perform trade studies to optimize design solutions and document design processes per standard work practices.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering to implement Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and disposition non‑conforming hardware.
• Prepare for and lead technical design reviews with stakeholders.
• Lead verification activities including analyses, rig and engine testing of turbomachinery components.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
