Job summary

Michigan Black Business Alliance (MBBA) is seeking a Program & Membership Coordinator to support cohort programs, member communications, and operations. This role emphasizes attention to detail, juggling multiple projects, and direct engagement with Black-owned businesses and partners.

The ideal candidate will oversee program logistics, onboarding, and data tracking, while maintaining member records and draft communications. A degree is preferred, and travel within Michigan is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in program coordination, membership services, nonprofit administration, customer experience, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working with project management and CRM-style tools (e.g., Monday.com); willingness to learn new systems quickly.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Genuine interest in and commitment to supporting Black-owned businesses and Michigan's Black business community.
• Ability to travel within Michigan for events and programming as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and logistics for MBBA cohort programs and workshops, including scheduling, venue and vendor coordination, and materials preparation.
• Serve as a point of contact for program participants, facilitators, and contractors throughout the life of a cohort.
• Track program milestones, deliverables, and deadlines, and flag risks to the Director of Membership Experience early.
• Assist with participant recruitment, applications, and onboarding for programs and workshops.
• Help gather participant feedback and program outcome data to support reporting and continuous improvement.
• Manage day-to-day membership operations, including new member onboarding, renewals, and inquiries.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records in MBBA's systems (e.g., Monday.com and related platforms).
• Support member engagement initiatives, including check-ins, surveys, and recognition of member milestones.
• Draft and schedule communications to members and program participants, including emails and event reminders.
• Coordinate with contractors and partners (e.g., designers, photographers) on marketing and program collateral.
• Maintain organized program and membership records, files, and documentation.
• Support tracking of program and membership data for internal reporting and funder requirements.
