Job summary

S&D Coffee in Conway, AR is seeking a Roasting Operator to operate coffee roasting equipment and help the roasting team meet production schedules. You will monitor roast profiles, log data, perform quality checks, and assist with green bean handling.

The role requires 1–2 years in manufacturing, forklift experience, and basic data entry. You’ll work with NetSuite, maintain a clean, safe workspace, and participate in on-the-job training toward advanced coffee qualifications.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 1-2 years' experience monitoring product quality.
• 1-2 years of certified forklift experience.
• Willingness and desire to develop by gaining coffee industry specific qualifications (Q-grader, SCAA certifications, etc.)
• Strong mathematical skills using percentages and fractions while working with recipes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills. General understanding of Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics and thermodynamics.
• Basic data entry skills.
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Roast green coffee beans to production schedule and confirm roast parameters meet specifications.
• Complete all logs, forms, and checklists during shift.
• Perform real time quality checks to ensure roast quality.
• Set up green loading commands and maintain inventory in the silos.
• Monitor equipment for proper performance and troubleshoot as needed.
• Communicate with team on daily schedule progress.
• Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
• Record production data in NetSuite.
• Assist with scheduled maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Train employees on safety practices.
• Lead others through protocols during emergencies.
• Comply with all company policies and GMP requirements.
• Share roasting responsibilities with the roasting team lead to ensure quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
