University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville is seeking an OPS Assistant – AIBHS Student & Faculty Support Specialist to provide direct academic support and tutoring in Python and R. Based in Jacksonville, you will assist with in-room classroom support for AIBHS courses taught by Gainesville-based faculty, acting as a TA-like presence.

The role involves tutoring, developing materials, holding office hours, and coordinating exams, with schedule constraints (TU/TH and some W sessions)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Ability to explain foundational programming concepts to students with no prior coding background.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in Python and R to students with limited coding background.
Develop supplemental instructional materials for AIBHS courses.
Hold regular tutoring and office hours to monitor progress.
Monitor student progress and identify students needing additional intervention or referral.
Serve as in-room presence for synchronously taught AIBHS courses and ensure smooth session delivery.
Troubleshoot classroom technology and connectivity issues.
Administer in-classroom exams and assessments under instructor direction.
Coordinate exam logistics, scheduling, and space reservations.
