Job summary

University of Florida is hiring an OPS Assistant - AIBHS Student & Faculty Support Specialist to tutor students with little or no coding background in Python and R. The role also serves as the in-room presence for AIBHS courses that faculty on another campus teach synchronously.

The assistant keeps class sessions running smoothly and administers exams under the instructor of record’s direction. Coordinates exam logistics and space reservations for temporary assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience tutoring students with little coding background welcome.
• Preference for Python and R proficiency and prior TA or tutor experience.
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups in Python and R.
• Develop supplemental instructional materials for beginners.
• Hold regular tutoring sessions and office hours.
• Monitor student progress and flag those needing intervention.
• Troubleshoot classroom technology and connectivity issues.
• Administer in-class exams and coordinate logistics.
